Based in the beautiful town of Inveraray, Argyll, Scotland, I am fortunate to be one of the few qualified and experienced professional Scottish tour guides in the country. I am a member of the following professional organisations: Scottish Tourist Guides Association (STGA – Blue Badge Guides) and Driver Guides Association (DGA). I am fully insured for driver guiding with Hire & Reward insurances and public liability. These organisations expect a very high standard of professionalism from their members and this is reflected in the service I provide.
After many years tour managing and guiding in Europe I qualified as a Blue Badge Guide in 1995. I now specialise in driver guiding and itinerary planning and have a genuine love of Scotland, my native land! I am fluent in both English and Spanish languages.
At present I operate a Hyundai 7 seater vehicle and also have recently acquired a VW Caddy Maxi Life. 6 passenger vehicle – suitable for up to 4 people for extended tours plus luggage. Both are fully insured for driver guiding.
I still travel extensively and have many years of experience driving on Highland roads so you can be sure of a safe and comfortable tour in my care.
Although much of my time is spent guiding and driving, I enjoy the following hobbies and interests:
Meeting up with family and friends – of course! I had fun taking my grandsons on holiday to Spain last year!
Travelling – both at home and abroad. In recent years I have visited Mexico, Cuba, North & South India and most of Europe. Over the years I have built up a strong knowledge of areas of Spain, as well as making many friends there whom I regularly visit.
Walking, canoeing, swimming and cycling. Gardening – I have two poly-tunnels and like to grow my own veggies!
I have always had a great love of music and took up the Scottish fiddle some years ago – I really enjoy going to workshops and taking part in music ‘sessions’ and would be delighted to introduce you to some ‘live’ Scottish music on your tour.
Your tour – booked directly with me – will hopefully give you the opportunity to liaise with me and choose an itinerary which will be tailor made to suit your taste and budget and include most of what you wish to experience in Scotland.
